Our Story

Cancer Conversations CIC was born from years of listening.

As clinicians working with patients and families affected by cancer, we repeatedly encountered the same concerns.

People who delayed seeing their doctor because they were afraid.

Families who believed cancer was a death sentence.

Individuals who had never heard of cancer screening.

Patients who felt healthcare services did not understand their cultural experiences.

Communities who wanted information but did not know who to trust.

We realised that medical expertise alone was not enough.

Communities needed trusted conversations.

Dr Olubukola Ayodele and Prof Oladejo Olaleye founded Cancer Conversations CIC because they believed that better outcomes begin with better conversations.

Our work brings together healthcare professionals, researchers, community organisations, faith groups, people with lived experience and local leaders.

We believe:

→ Knowledge saves lives.
→ Trust improves outcomes.
→ Communities are experts in their own experiences.
→ Better services are built together.

Cancer Conversations is more than education.
It is a movement to improve cancer literacy, strengthen trust and reduce inequalities.
