Cancer Conversations CIC was co-founded by Dr Olubukola Ayodele and Prof Oladejo Olaleye, two clinicians united by a shared belief that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to prevent, detect and survive cancer.

Dr Olubukola Ayodele

Dr Olubukola Ayodele is an award-winning Consultant Medical Oncologist, breast cancer specialist, academic and internationally recognised advocate for cancer equity. Having trained and worked across Nigeria, Ireland, Canada and the United Kingdom, she has dedicated her career to improving cancer outcomes through clinical excellence, research, education and community engagement.
Her work focuses on reducing cancer inequalities, improving cancer literacy, strengthening community partnerships and advancing equitable access to cancer prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and supportive care. She is also a passionate advocate for increasing diversity and inclusion in cancer clinical trials, recognising that equitable research participation is essential to delivering treatments that benefit all populations.
A sought-after national and international speaker, Dr Ayodele collaborates with healthcare organisations, academic institutions, policymakers and community leaders to drive meaningful change in cancer care. As Co-Founder of Cancer Conversations CIC, she is committed to building trusted partnerships between communities and healthcare systems, ensuring that every individual, regardless of ethnicity, culture or background, has the knowledge, confidence and opportunity to achieve the best possible cancer outcomes.

Prof Oladejo Olaleye

It is my privilege to look after patients with head and neck cancers. I provide compassionate care and perform complex surgery removing cancers as part of a team. I care deeply about the experiences of all my patients and proactive in seeking to improve cancer outcomes for Black, Asian and ethnic communities. I lead cancer research trials and innovation in newer technologies, ensuring equitable access. It has been humbling to engage with communities by listening, sharing ideas and co-designing interventions that will lead ultimately to early cancer diagnosis and improved survival.

Adeola Obadan

I’m a project management professional with experience delivering person-centred healthcare services and community-focused initiatives. A breast cancer survivor, I’m passionate about improving cancer awareness, early intervention and equitable access to support, particularly within Black and ethnically diverse communities. I combine strategic leadership with lived experience to champion inclusivity, education and advocacy. I am committed to helping individuals and families navigate health challenges with dignity, knowledge and hope.

Sheeraz Azhar

Dr Mohamed Sheeraz Mohamed Azhar is a Medical Oncology Registrar at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust with a clinical and academic interest in acute oncology, digital health, and patient safety. He is the founder of OncsCare, a clinician-led digital innovation focused on improving the identification and management of treatment-related toxicity in patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapy. Sheraz is passionate about improving cancer care through innovation, research, education, and meaningful patient engagement, and is committed to supporting initiatives that improve outcomes and experiences for people affected by cancer.

Dr Ayodeji Akiwowo is a Data and AI consultant and founder of TATTEL Ltd. He leads Black Excellence UK (BEUK CIC) and Karibani, championing education and community empowerment across the East Midlands' African diaspora. A church leader, author, and trained apologist, Ayo brings strategic, data-driven thinking and a heart for service. He is committed to building resilient organisations that deliver lasting social impact for the communities they serve.
